Restoration Plaza

I literally grew up here; taking part in different cultural events like lectures and dance classes. I came on the first day of Kwanzaa, Umoja which means Unity, to attend a Kwanzaa event held by my cousin Tyreek Washington. It was to pay tribute to and showcase a film about my Grandfather Yusef Iman called, 'A Paen for Yusef'. My Mom, Malika Iman, presented an lifetime activist award to a family that was crucial in the support of the Black Arts Liberation Movement. Restoration Plaza is a longtime fixture in the cultural arts community, and for that, we are truly grateful!

Atmosphere. It's a small African American Museum. The only thing is it's under some renovations but over all very cultural experience going on there. If you get the chance to visit Moshood next door more of a experience for you. Support Black Business.

Restoration is a community gem. There has been so many times my family has had celebratory events here. This organization is always offering community events and fostering positivity. I am so happy to see it still around and thriving. After attending a retirement party in the event space, I was thrilled to be able to see the Notorious BIG exhibit. It was so cool! That huge statue plays his music! I had no idea! If I were wealthy, I'd get it! As a Brooklyn native, I was stoked! If you haven't yet checked this place out for an event, you should!

This a very Beautiful and Historic Place.... I was there for a Fashion Show (which was excellent by the way) and had an opportunity to capture some of the work on display.... I'm planning to revisit to get a tour and bring some light to this home of Art and Craft. If you're in the neighborhood, visit and give your review.

Such a wonderful place to visit. Home of many cultural events in Brooklyn NY. We filmed scenes from my 46 awards winning TV Series titles: "Sura Khan's The Chambers - In God We Trust" now airing on Tubi TV and Amazon Prime Video

Always a pleasure to revisit!! Tonight's Event at the Billie Holiday Theater was so nice!! Looking forward to coming back soon.

TAX REVIEW. I been coming here for 3 years and I can honestly say the previous 2 years were horrible. Appointment or walk in they were just all over the place with flustered staff , few tax preparers and very length list of ppl waiting to file per day. Idk what changed but the process is smoother , things are more organized and my documents were collected swiftly. It took 1 hour 30 minutes, about 20 minutes for me to get through my pre appointment paperwork and about 30-40 minutes to be called ( there were ppl here before me) and the rest of the time was my tax preparer filing my taxes. Don’t let entitled combative clients sway you. I’ve always got my refund in a timely manner… also they did cancel my previous appointment but I was quick and was able to change my appointment time to the same day just a bit later than my original. So be mindful of where u choose to get alerts, mine was through text if it was through email I would’ve seen it late and be looking for someone to blame. All and all 10/10 if You’re a decent human being with patience not coming here while you have a time crunch or schedule conflict.

It was good. Shhh is an annual party hell there and it still had ample room to move around.
