Not sure what happened to this place! Been shopping here for years but it’s never been this bad. Quality of products isn’t what it used to be. As soon as you enter the store you can’t avoid the horrible odor. Not sure what it was but it definitely made me want to get out of there fast.

Visitor notes
The store is nice and very convenient. The fruits and vegetables section is well managed, and the customer service is great. However, I’ve noticed expired products inside the store on the shelves multiple times, especially bread, which is concerning. Some products are even expiring the same day you’re purchasing. This only hurts the owner and the business. Better management could make this store even more competitive and help it thrive in the long run. Hopefully, they address this issue soon!
My husband bough an order of $63.85 at circus on 4/14 . He bought 2 packs of raspberries in the order. There were a few edible ones on top but they were all touching totally rotten ones that were slimy with black mold on them. I thought they were black bugs because I never saw black on raspberries. Children, seniors & people with immune issues can get deathly ill from black moldy fruit. I could not eat it because even touching black mold could make me ill. Do not buy raspberries that seem Cheap because chances are, they are bad on the inside. I threw them out immediately. Getting 6 edible raspberries in a box that is totally rotten is not safe. This black mold is toxic and the bottom was slimy mush.
Circus Fruits has been in the neighborhood for decades. They have evolved from a glorified fruit and vegetables stand into a great produce and gourmet market. The employees are friendly and helpful. The market is clean indoors and out. They even offer bulk size packages of pasta and sun-dried tomatoes and more.
Wish they were in MA. Produce prices are amazing. Open 24hrs!!!
Review for Circus Fruits – Hamilton Pkwy, Brooklyn ⭐️ 4.5 / 5 Circus Fruits on Hamilton Parkway is one of the biggest and most reliable fruit and vegetable shops in the area. I really enjoy going there, especially at night when it’s less crowded, because during the day it gets packed. They have a huge variety of produce, and their prices are honestly some of the best in Brooklyn. You can get jalapeños or serrano peppers for around $1.50 per pound, sometimes even cheaper. Their fruit is generally good, but like anywhere in New York, you have to be a little picky. That’s just the reality of NYC produce — shops hold fruits and vegetables too long in storage, so you always need to check what you grab. One thing I really like is their selection of imported products. They carry high-quality Turkish olive oils at very fair prices, and their pickles are great — you can get a big plastic jar for about $10, and it lasts for 2 weeks easily if you eat them regularly. Overall, the store has almost everything you need. Prices are solid, the variety is huge, and it’s convenient. Just remember: it’s New York, so you always have to look closely and choose carefully. But compared to many smaller shops, Circus Fruits is definitely one of the better ones.
I would give this place a ZERO STARS because they are a trash selling store. Meaning they only sell rotten, moldy and old food. Go somewhere else or else you suffer with diarrhea. This was the type of fruit you will bitten into!
So much to choose from, great one stop shopping. Good quality stuff. I always be what I need, want, and try something new. In and out quickly!
