Cafe Luluc

I wanted to leave an honest review after my second visit to Cafe Luluc. My first experience was enjoyable, which is why I decided to come back. Unfortunately, my second visit was much different. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and found it to be quite dry. When I asked for BBQ sauce, I was surprised to learn they didn’t have any available, which seemed unusual for a pulled pork sandwich. Unfortunately, while eating, I saw a bug crawl off my plate, and I also found a hair in my food. To the restaurant’s credit, they did remove my meal from the bill after I brought the issues to their attention, which I appreciated. The service itself was fine, and this review is not a reflection of the staff. That said, finding both a bug and a hair during the same meal left me questioning the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. Since I had a good experience on my first visit, this was especially disappointing. I hope this was an isolated incident, but ultimately I won’t be returning.

Cash only! We walked in on Sunday late afternoon without a reservation. There was no wait and were seated promptly. This is a very popular spot so plan accordingly. We observed that almost every table had pancakes. I had intended on getting the pancakes after reading the online reviews. Seeing pancakes everywhere solidified my decision. Everyone enjoyed their food! Our table ordered the avocado toast, burger with fries, French toast with apple compote and berries with bacon & eggs. Of course, I ordered the pancakes with bacon & eggs. Maple syrup is provided on the side. The great looking, fluffy pancakes tasted every bit as good as they look with the mable syrup! Unfortunately I had to trade a portion of my glorious pancakes for a taste of the French toast. Everyone at the table kept coming for my delicious pancakes. The savory options on the table were seasoned well. How do I know? 😉 We plan on trying their dinner specials and course meals on future visits.

I heard about this restaurant a few years ago for having some really good pancakes from a coworker on a few occasions. Then a friend of mine brother mentioned it via a social media post some time after the coworker. I tried to go about 2 years or so ago, but it was crowded and they didn't really have a system for the queue. It was raining and we were told to stand outside. I asked could they call us on phone so we can sit in the vehicle but the host said no. No big deal but I left. Finally I went yesterday (6.4.26). Was seated immediately as it was a lot of tables available for a party of 2. Around 1213, I ordered pancakes and bacon and my mother ordered hamburger and fries or onion rings. I noticed a party of two sat down after us because I wanted that table once we came in but it was still unclean from whichever group sat there before my party arrived. That table was cleaned and people sat down after us. That group of people got their food before ours. That really wasn't a big deal to me because some people meals are easier to make. However I started paying attention to the time. Then I noticed that same group of people start getting ready to pay then eventually leave. Followed by a second group of 2 that came in after us who got their food as well. This group's order stood out because they both had pancakes, which I ordered. At this point, I asked my mother what time did my brother called her, hence the 1213 mentioned earlier. It is now 1241 or so. I signaled for the waiter after he dropped of both pancakes to the second party "what's going on?" To he responded "about what?" Then I mentioned "with our food" & how many groups that came in after us but fed before us with one group not even in the restaurant. He tried to tell me well it takes time to prepare certain food but then I mentioned to him they had pancakes and that's what I ordered. The waiter also made a statement that the food here is fresh as if they had to slaughter the cow in the kitchen, clean and prepare it then cook it The waiter went to the back and magically came out with our food. My bacon wasn't hot at all but at this point I just want to eat. Upon going to eat the pancakes, I realized that there was t any syrup nor was there ketchup for my mother's burger. I signaled the wister and mentioned that to which he provided. The syrup was very watery like. Hers the moment of more truth. Time to eat pancakes. Bite. Not impressed. Keep eating and with every bite, I was let down more. The pancakes didn't taste good at all. Bacon was ok besides it not being hot or even warm for that matter My mother did say her burger was good . I didn't have a good experience with the service and the food didn't even add to make me forget about the service. The 🍓 on the pancakes were good

The best pancakes I’ve ever had in my life - perfectly crispy on the edges and soft in the middle with fresh fruits and great syrup. French omelette with bacon was also tasty! Really good cappuccino! Must try if you’re nearby or visiting

FYI… It’s cash only so heads up. The service here is great, food can taste abit better but that’s opinion but there are alot of affordable options on this menu and great decent deals. Try all the foods, escargot and muscles were great !

Cash only. Food was okay but not really worth the hype. Do go if you are in the area and there is no line but I wouldn’t recommend waiting in line for hours. There are a ton of other options in the area.

I’ve been coming to café Luluc for 20 years and they have remained amazingly consistent over the decades. Their pancakes and food overall never miss. It’s rare you find a restaurant that maintains its quality in both culinary skill and service but Cafe Luluc is it!! A true gem and worth the wait.

I had the Pancakes, and they were amazing! Very nice french-inspired spot with friendly staff and not too long of a wait. Cash only, and I recommend coming with cash because their ATM fee is $$$
