Highly recommend you buy tickets online in advance because the line moves slowly to purchase. No outside food or drink are allowed so if you want to walk and drink a beverage plan to buy it at the cafe immediately after entering. It’s a smaller garden and accessible for many folks in Brooklyn not far from the red and green line stops. When we went on a weekend it felt like 15% of the garden was closed. There is a general loop around the garden but I recommend the cutaways that are less crowded and mostly paved. There are several large grassy areas. Some parts are shady but many are not so wear sunscreen. We enjoyed the tropical, desert, and bonsai museum houses. There are roses throughout as well as in the rose garden. The herb garden also has vegetables like cabbage and asparagus. The garden is family friendly with a children discovery center area. Most of the main path is paved. We walked through a lot in about an hour and fifteen minutes but imagine you could spend more time hanging out or another 30 minutes in the cutaways.

We had a wonderful visit to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden! The gardens are absolutely beautiful, colorful, and full of amazing plants and flowers. It was such a peaceful and relaxing place to walk around and enjoy nature. I visited with my kids and my infant, and we all had a great time. It was not only fun but also educational—we learned about different plants and enjoyed exploring all the beautiful scenery. One of our favorite parts was a small hands-on area where the kids could play with gardening tools, dig in the soil, and explore. They had so much fun getting involved and learning through play. The views are stunning, and there are so many lovely spots to stop and take in the beauty around you. It’s a perfect place for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking for a calm and enjoyable outing. If you’re looking for a peaceful, family-friendly place to spend the day, I highly recommend visiting. We can’t wait to come back! 🌸🌿 A perfect oasis in the heart of Brooklyn for both kids and adults alike!
One of my favorite places in Brooklyn. Urban oasis that can be all yours, if you come early in the morning. Find your favorite spot and sit and enjoy the nature. It's beautiful in any season . I love the Rose garden at the end of May. Such an olfactory and visual delight. Even in the winter it has its charm, plus there are covered gardens with different climate areas. I only wish they reopen the restaurant. It was good when it was open years ago.
Stunning!! I could spend an entire day in these gardens. And the conservatory had an amazing collection of bonsai, orchids, cacti, etc etc. Every plant lover deserves a chance to visit. Bring plenty money for the big gift/plant shop!
This garden is a true hidden gem. Walking along the winding paths, surrounded by a stunning variety of colorful blossoms and lush trees, provides the perfect peaceful escape. The cool breeze and gentle sunlight filtering through the leaves make it incredibly
Three of us drove over to the Brooklyn botanical garden during the cherry blossoms season. We were a little late in the season but there were still a ton of blossoms to enjoy. It was not overly crowded so we were able to take lots of beautiful photos. We walked around for a couple of hours including a visit to the Bonsai house. These exhibits were well laid out with good signs to explain. All in all, this was a great day at the park. We parked in the open lot right next to the park entrance. Very convenient.
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden was absolutely beautiful and exceeded all my expectations. The gardens are impeccably maintained, with a stunning variety of flowers, plants, and peaceful walking paths. Every area offers something unique, from vibrant seasonal displays to tranquil ponds and charming hidden corners. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, making it the perfect escape from the busy city. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was well organized. I highly recommend visiting if you're in New York – it's a truly wonderful place to spend a few hours surrounded by nature.
I’ve been to so many gardens and this was a wonderful experience! I spent hours walking through around and enjoyed every moment. If you love botany, nature and beauty this is a must while in NYC!
