My recent visit to the SCAD fashion exhibition was a notably enriching experience, offering commendable value for the admission fee. The overall presentation was both delightful and highly educational, leaving a strong positive impression. The centerpiece, the fashion collection, was truly spectacular. The designs displayed were breathtakingly beautiful, showcasing remarkable artistry and craftsmanship. The curation further enhanced the viewing, providing insightful context that deepened my appreciation for the pieces. One minor area for potential improvement relates to wayfinding. Locating the precise entrance for the exhibit proved somewhat challenging upon arrival, which could potentially cause confusion for new visitors. For the benefit of future attendees, I discovered that utilizing the elevators from the parking levels and selecting "M" provides direct access to the museum's main entrance, where the fashion exhibit is readily accessible. Implementing clearer signage or providing specific navigational instructions pre-arrival could significantly streamline the initial visitor journey. Beyond the exhibit itself, I found the outdoor spaces surrounding the museum to be a pleasant bonus. They offer a serene environment with picturesque views and comfortable seating, ideal for a brief respite. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend this exhibition to anyone interested in fashion and art, and I eagerly anticipate the opportunity for a return visit.

This was a really nice and unexpected visit. I found on Discover ATL. Free parking on the fourth level. I don’t remember much film. They had some videos, but to say film was in the title is interesting. Like the film was mostly of fashion itself. But it’s affordable and free parking. Took about one hour to walk about.

A visit to SCAD FASH for the "André Leon Talley: Style Is Forever" exhibition is an absolute must. This retrospective is more than just a collection of clothes; it is a powerful, intimate tribute to a man who fundamentally reshaped the cultural landscape from the front rows of Paris to the halls of Vogue. What immediately strikes you is the scale. The exhibition features nearly 70 looks, many displayed on custom 6’6” mannequins modeled after Talley’s own striking silhouette. Seeing his signature bespoke caftans and sweeping capes—from designers like Tom Ford, Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, and Valentino—up close allows you to appreciate the sheer "armor" he created for himself. One of the most breathtaking pieces is the scarlet Chanel silk taffeta cape; it dominates the room with the same gravity Talley possessed in life. Beyond the couture, the "ephemera" section is what makes this exhibit feel personal. You’ll see handwritten notes from Anna Wintour, personal photographs, and his collection of Louis Vuitton luggage. The curation is masterful, using a soundtrack of Talley’s favorite gospel music and audio clips of his voice to make it feel as though he is guiding you through the gallery himself. Pro-Tip for Visitors: The museum is open Tuesday–Saturday (10 AM – 5 PM) and Sunday (12 PM – 5 PM); they are closed on Mondays. General admission is very affordable at $10, with discounted $8 tickets for seniors and military, and $5 for college students (children under 14 and SCAD students/staff are free). The museum is located on the top floor of SCAD’s Atlanta campus, offering great views and a quiet atmosphere. Set aside at least 90 minutes to take it all in!

The lovely dosent shared knowledge of the Andre Leon Talley exhibit. The space was nearly as exquisite as the man himself. So many pieces celebrating his public persona while also exposing his personal side. Don't skip the short video celebrating Mr. Talley at the end of the tour I am looking forward to also viewing their presentation of Dior that will follow soon. Free parking for SCADFASH is on the 4th floor with an elevator to the top. Be sure to step outside and enjoy the view of the city while you are there.

I recently had the opportunity to attend the Leon Tally event at the SCAD Museum, and I can confidently say it was an experience that transcended merely attending an exhibition—it was a journey through the very fabric of fashion, culture, and history. Leon Tally's profound influence on the fashion world is nothing short of remarkable, and the event beautifully showcased his legacy. As I wandered through the museum's vibrant exhibit, I was amazed by the exquisite artistry of the pieces on display. The self-guided tour allowed me to immerse myself at my own pace, uncovering fashion pieces and gaining insights into Tally's visionary contributions. The SCAD Museum itself is a stunning backdrop for this celebration of creativity, radiating an energy that inspires and invigorates. And for fellow fashion enthusiasts, the on-site gift shop and bookstore is a treasure trove, featuring works from other influential figures in the industry, making it the perfect place to deepen your appreciation for fashion's rich tapestry. I definitely recommend carving out time in your schedule to experience this extraordinary event. It’s not just an exhibition; it’s a captivating exploration of a brilliant mind that has shaped our understanding of style and African American culture. Don't miss the chance to be part of this vibrant celebration!

I love the SCAD Fashion Museum. The exhibits are inspiring and the couture on display is always breathtaking. It may be small, but it's powerful and worth a membership if local. At least parking is free, compared to most other museums. Other museums are 90% static inventory, while this one constantly changes.

Wonderful Dior exhibit! Much more on display than I had expected. Plus the terrace view before entering the museum is stunning!

Traffic was ridiculous but well worth the commute. If you love fashion, history, beautiful things and people…this exhibit is for you. What a wonderful visual of the life and story of fashion icon Andre Leon Talley. A must see, it speaks for itself.
