Fernbank Museum was absolutely worth the 4-hour drive from Tennessee! We arrived around 10:15 a.m. and had no trouble finding parking. The dinosaur exhibits on the first floor were incredible—the dinosaurs are enormous, and the displays are truly impressive. My daughter, Margaux, is a huge dinosaur fan, and she loved every minute of it. Admission includes one giant-screen movie of your choice. We originally wanted to watch "T.REX," but accidentally went into "Horse Power" instead. It turned out to be a great movie, so we enjoyed it! Since we still wanted to see "T.REX," we paid an additional $5 per person to watch a second movie, and it was definitely worth it. We also explored the outdoor forest area, although parts of it were closed for updates. Before leaving, we stopped by the cafeteria and had the grilled cheese, which was surprisingly delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful family experience and would highly recommend Fernbank Museum to anyone visiting Atlanta, especially if you have kids or love dinosaurs!

The fernbank was good, not great. It had a lot of immersive and interactive exhibits, but I will say it was definitely geared towards kids. This is fine, but my husband and I were able to get through the museum and all of its information in about an hour and fifteen minutes because many of the exhibits were play scapes and child “learning labs” which wasn’t really advertised on their website. Maybe we didn’t read enough on their website about what to expect before going. It was also PACKED on a Saturday morning at 11am so I do not recommend going at that time unless you want kids constantly pushing their way into your space. They do have a lot of outside trails that seemed fun, but it was too cold to go outside. Either way, it was cool, but I don’t think it was worth the price of $28 for what we got as adults.

Great place for an educational tour. Entertainment for the children. Just took my son to this amazing place for an educational tour, and they had a blast! 🎉 The entertainment was top-notch, keeping them engaged and entertained the whole time. It's such a great spot for families to enjoy together. If you're looking for a fun and educational experience, this place is a must-visit. Review: Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Atlanta The Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Atlanta is truly an exceptional destination that beautifully combines education, entertainment, and discovery. It offers an in-depth journey through the story of our planet and how life evolved — from the tiniest organisms to the rise of humankind. The museum showcases a remarkable collection of exhibits on human evolution, animal diversity, plant evolution, geology, and the age of dinosaurs, making it both fascinating and informative. One of the most striking aspects of Fernbank is how well it presents the evolution of life on Earth. The galleries are filled with life-sized models, fossils, skeletons, and interactive displays that trace millions of years of natural history. The dinosaur exhibit is a favorite among visitors, especially the giant Argentinosaurus — one of the largest dinosaurs ever discovered. The Walk Through Time in Georgia exhibit creatively connects local natural history with global evolution, showing how Atlanta and its surrounding regions developed over millions of years. For school-going children, this museum is a treasure house of learning. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed to be hands-on and engaging, encouraging curiosity about science, nature, and history. For adults, the museum offers an equally rich experience, blending art, science, and culture in a way that sparks wonder and reflection. The 3D IMAX theater adds another dimension to the experience, with immersive films that bring the mysteries of the universe, wildlife, and ancient worlds to life. The outdoor WildWoods and Fernbank Forest trails offer a serene connection to nature right in the heart of Atlanta. Overall, Fernbank Museum is more than just a museum — it’s an educational adventure for all ages, celebrating the story of life and the planet we call home. A must-visit landmark in Atlanta!

Fantastic promenade and…and uh…well that’s kind of it. The major exhibits were under construction as were a chunk of the forest trails. If you’re here for a museum experience you can summarize it with the photos of the TWO skeletons they have. If you’re looking to hike in 90 degree weather and look at some sculptures then you’ll have a better time than I did. Incredible skeletons though

Went here with my family for the night time Aglow event. It was a nice display and a good time for all. Our only gripe was some of the walk paths dont have lights or borders which could be dangerous for adults and especially children. The cafe should also stock something more non alcohol friendly like juices or sparkling water, etc.

Definitely a cool experience especially if your kid loves dinosaurs! The outdoor nature walk was nice and great for pictures. The indoor playground was beyond amazing. My only complaint is when they have field trips it felt like they were all over the place and there was no structure to it. We had to leave some exhibits early cause it was so crowded. Other than that it’s a must visit

If you have to decide between the many options of activities in Atlanta, make sure you see Fernbank. To say it’s stunning is an understatement. Get ready for a truly GIANT experience. Dinosaurs are great fun for the kids as well. They will love it. There’s plenty of activities for children as well as adults. The walking paths in the outdoor areas are really amazing and well done. Even with a crowd around, it’s an amazingly peaceful and experience. Full of birds calling and dappled sunshine peeking through the trees. I can’t say enough nice things about it! 😀
