Dunwoody Nature Center

Such a beautiful place! Fun for ALL ages! The couple of staff members I did meet, HAD THE BEST ATTITUDE! Even fellow park goers! We got to pet many dogs ( dog friendly park!) on our adventure today. There are restrooms available and a huge playground for kids. The tree house was a great restling place as it had several chairs and tables. Benches throughout the entire area for easy resting along the way for anyone who might need it. It truly was a beautiful place. Absolutely going back, definitely favorite park in Dunwoody to me!

We had our wedding party at Dunwoody Nature Center (DNC) in the Northwoods Pavilion in the spring. We worked primarily with Abigail, and also Jazmine on the day of the event. Both were great to work with! We had about 60-70 people, including a few kids. We rented the venue for 8 hours, which included set up and take down time. DNC gave us a menu of possible set up arrangements and all of the tables and chairs were set up how we agreed when we arrived. DNC also handled putting away tables and chairs, so we could just leave them at the end of the night. There are a few specific rules around trash that are worth asking about for your event. We took the few bags of trash we had with us in our truck bed at the end of the night, but we could have left them for a fee. The Northwoods Pavilion is a gorgeous, glass treehouse. It is modern and simple. It has a fabulous patio at the back that sits in the tree canopy. Everyone loved the venue! The kids discovered the incredible playground during the party, which was a fun bonus! We ordered catered tacos from a restaurant in Atlanta that was not affiliated with DNC, so all we had to do was provide DNC with the caterer's proof of insurance. The Northwoods Pavilion has three clean, large, individual restrooms. I'm pretty sure at least one, if not all of them were handicap accessible. There is a very long ramp from the parking lot to the venue which is also handicap accessible, but it was a bit of a trek for our older guests - FYI. We had a DJ and everything sounded great. During the party, we couldn't figure out how to start the fans and Jazmine was only a text away. Jazmine checked in with us at the beginning and once or twice during the party, then did a walk through with us at the end of the night to wrap things up. Lastly, we gave ourselves a big cushion of time (3 hours) to set up because we had some decorations to hang. We had a good system that involved a painter's pole with a hook, which allowed us to not mess with ladders. A few weeks before our event, we went to look at the venue again and ask Abigail for advice on hanging decorations. It seemed like throughout the process, DNC staff could be as involved as we wanted them to be - which for us wasn't too much. I also highly recommend walking the trails at the nature center. I did not do this until months after our party and DNC is an absolute gem! It is so clean, beautiful, environmentally conscious, and fun. They have a variety of venues to choose from, from more polished to more rustic to suit whatever your needs.

The Dunwoody Nature Center is such a peaceful spot. It offers plenty of options — from walking the trails to enjoying the picnic areas and playground. It really feels like its own little oasis, perfect for getting your steps in or just taking a moment to unwind. There’s also an event center on the property, which makes this a great location if you’re planning an indoor/outdoor event with a natural backdrop. Parking is limited, so depending on the time of your visit, you may want to plan ahead. Overall, a beautiful and relaxing escape right in the area.

Beautiful place for kids and adult to go for trail. There is a kids play area too inside. Its too quiet and peaceful inside and you can sit and relax too.

As an environmental science major it's so wonderful to see a park incorporate so much nature not only is it more enjoyable parks like this can make such a difference in surrounding ecosystems. I love what they're doing here

This spot is near a school. I went on a weekday, so it wasn’t too crowded, but it was a bit noisy with kids playing nearby. I’m guessing it’s quieter on weekends. They’re currently fixing up the central building and adding a new one, but the park and trails are still nice. There’s a playground for kids, a small stream with the relaxing sound of flowing water, and paths to explore the forest. When I first arrived, I thought I saw a deer in the distance, but it disappeared before I could get a closer look, so I’m not sure. There are lots of birds here, which I loved. I even saw some woodpeckers pecking at a dead tree trunk to make a hole—pretty cool! (Check out the photos I attached.) Overall, if you’re looking for a short nature escape, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Dunwoody Nature Center served as the venue for our Farewell Wedding Weekend Brunch. The Northwoods Pavilion was an incredible venue and experience for our guests. Event Sales Manager, Abigail Reid gave us a tour and helped us coordinate everything we would need form a venue standpoint. When we arrived, Abigail's team had already set up all chairs, tables, started fans, and had the room ready to go. The vendor we used from the recommended list, Savory Bites Catering, was also excellent and worked well with the venue. The venue also was cable of holding over 100 guests and had a large outdoor patio to keep the space from feeling over-stuffed. The views from the pavilion were incredible and we really loved that everyone had the chance to see the beautiful natural areas around Atlanta. As a park, Dunwoody Nature Center is a great place for family-friendly hikes, has entertainment for kids in the meadow and playground, and tons of amazing wildlife and plant life. Multiple of our guests walked the grounds and sent us pictures of birds - including hawks! 5/5 One of the Best Venues I have ever worked with

Nice spot to be able to walk around nature a little bit. The trails seem nice and well maintained, but I wish there were a few more benches as I like to bring my lunch and birdwatch while I eat. And keep in mind it’s right next to an elementary school so if you’re there on a weekday, while very cute, it’s not exactly a peaceful outdoor experience!
