A wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, creating such a lovely atmosphere. The desserts were absolutely delicious ,beautifully made, fresh, and full of flavor. You can truly feel the care and quality in everything they serve. Definitely a place worth coming back to.

Absolutely delicious spot and landmark in the neighborhood! Everything is delicious but I finally sat down to write this review because of this incredible BLT I had this past weekend. Delicious!! My boyfriend had the homemade(!) spinach pie which is always a delight. This is such an incredible spot- I love their coffee, and all their food options so far have been just out of this world. The space itself is fantastic and the service is so consistently great.

I was here last night and it is now my favorite cafe and I will be back frequently! The owner is super nice which is a bonus to how damn good every pastry we ordered was! Even the cappuccino hit! Get everything on the menu 😋

Great experience! Love the big windows. The food is delicious. I ordered the souvlaki platter and it was the perfect amount of food. I've had the homemade spanakopita before too and that's SO good. Literally obsessed with their Greek desserts. They're all so tasty!!

It was very last minute that my husband and I decided to get a wedding cake for our civil ceremony, and this place was the first and top of his mind — absolutely no regrets about it! John, the owner who is always near the counter, took care of us with so much warmth and attention. The whole process was incredibly easy, stress-free, and honestly such a joy during an already busy wedding week. What made it even more special was that they were able to incorporate my own illustration into the cake design, and the result completely exceeded my expectations. It was personal, beautiful, and truly felt like us in cake form. Not only did it look stunning, it tasted amazing too — our guests loved it. This is such a lovely neighborhood gem — reliable, kind, and top-tier quality. I’m so grateful we trusted them with something so meaningful for our wedding day. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

I've been visiting Omonia Cafe for years and, until this past Friday I've generally had a good experience. Unfortunately, this visit was the exception. The service was disappointing from start to finish. Members of our party were left waiting for extended periods, and once our food arrived, no one checked back on the table to see whether everything was correct or if we needed anything else. As a result, an incorrect item remained unaddressed, and we were never informed of available menu options that would have been helpful to know when ordering. There were also several basic hospitality courtesies that seemed to be missing throughout the meal. Plates were dropped onto the table rather than placed down, simple acknowledgments such as "thank you" or "you're welcome" were absent, and the overall interaction felt tense and unfriendly. By the time our food arrived, my coffee had gone cold. Under normal circumstances I would have asked for a replacement, but our table was never checked on. While waiting, I also observed a staff member handling drink ingredients immediately after wiping wet hands on their pants, which was concerning from a hygiene standpoint. The food itself was ok, but the service significantly impacted the overall experience. This is the first time I've encountered these issues here, which makes the visit particularly disappointing given how many times I've patronized the cafe over the years. I rarely leave a reduced tip and genuinely debated whether to do so, but the level of service fell well below expectations. I hope this was simply an off day, but it will likely be some time before I return.

Amazing first visit! Selin was such a friendly and attentive server, and the owner even came over to greet us. I’ll definitely be coming back again.

Omonia has become my favorite place in Astoria! Absolutely recommend! The desserts are just to die for and the service is just incredible!
