Humane Society of Huron Valley

We had the best experience adopting our puppy Lexi (formally known as Danny) from the Humane Society of Huron Valley! I had been following their social media for almost a year, and their posts really showed the care and compassion they have for the animals they help. When we came in to adopt Lexi, the staff was absolutely wonderful. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to make sure we felt comfortable and prepared. They shared everything they knew about Lexi — including her medical history and what she had experienced before coming into our home — which meant so much to us. The staff was attentive, patient, and made us feel like we were in great hands throughout the entire process. It was clear how much they care about finding the right homes for their animals. Knowing we can reach out with questions after adoption gives us even more confidence. We are so grateful to HSHV for helping bring Lexi into our lives. She is already so loved, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience!

I adopted Edgar and Allan from Huron Valley Humane Society this weekend. They are two happy, rambunctious balls of fluff who adapted to my dog like they are all old friends. I received detailed vet care information and a start kit to allow them to settle in. The facility was taking great care while they waited to be adopted.

Amazing staff and volunteers who totally care about the welfare of animals. Staff and volunteers that helped me yesterday were all professional, courteous, helpful, listened and made sure I was confident in how to care for the 2 kittens that were vaccinated and spayed. Thanks so much for caring for Phantom and Tiger and for helping my husband and I with questions. They are both doing great today.

I could go on and on about the Humane Society of Huron Valley! On Thursday I filled out a super quick online application. Within an hour the foster parents were emailing me times to meet. And within 24 hours I signed paperwork and was given our new pup son! I encountered 4 or 5 staff and they were all kind and helpful. The shelter was upbeat and positive. The best part? Their little store with clothes, pet supplies, stickers, and magnets! Nashua has only been with us one day, but we are HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE. When I tell you he's an actual prince... Thank you HSHV! You have a place in my heart.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. They gave as much history as possible on the animals we inquired about. The facility is clean. We ended up adopting another fur baby from them and the process was easy. Adoption fee is very reasonable.

I foster with HSHV and they are very supportive, helpful, and put the animals first always. They even have special educational and fun holiday events for the foster volunteers so you get to meet the team that helps you and other fosters. In addition to my foster dog my family has an adopted dog from here. We walked in to adopt one day, took her home, and she’s our favourite “person” ever since.

Staff are always eager to help answer any questions or share their knowledge. Facility is always clean and the animals look healthy and well cared for. Here’s my newest addition from them however we have adopted cats in the past as well.
