For the very limited view you are able to see from down at the road and my absolute love for trains and seeing and hearing the same train surrounding you on 3 sides, personally I feel it was worth it thus the 3 stars. We even saw the Amtrak going up through there! For customer service at the park, a one star review. Notice, the last admission is at 3:15 PM on Sunday afternoon, so technically they close at 3:15, not at 4. We arrived at 3:20 and the very unhelpful older gentleman at the front treated us very coldly and we did not feel welcome. It was sad as we were passing through here on our way back to New York. Thankfully I was able to still get a few good photos thanks to the help of a drone and a few areal photos. Also, I feel that coming during the fall and early spring would allow you better visibility of the full horseshoe as there was a lot of foliage on the trees already so it was limited to what all you could see. Check the hours first though to make the they are open or you will be confined to view only from the public road below as we were. Also note, I have Verizon phone service, and it is very limited service there. Head down the road a couple miles towards Altoona and it will improve.

We were lucky to see a train come around the curve while visiting. Such a monumental task for the workers who built and maintained the tracks by hand and simple tools in the early years of the trains traveling the route around the curve. Much respect for the railroad workers after visiting the curve and learning the history behind it's construction. It's a must see for all ages! 👍🏼

One of the most iconic places to see frequent trains on a busy line. There is restrooms and a gift shop at the entrance. Plenty of stairs to get up, but there is also a funicular that can take you up if its running. Customer service was very nice and greeted me when I entered. Views of the mountains and trains at the top are great. There is vending machines and seating areas too. If you are a train enthusiast, I highly recommend this spot to railfan.

What can I say? Great view of active trains navigating the curve and train horns! You can also see two reservoirs below the lookout. Great family fun. Only waited 20 minutes for a train to pass.

Really cool site to see. If the lift isn't working, enjoy the 192 steps to the top of the curve. Lol. Amazing view from the top.

Now that the funicular has reopened and the trees in the viewshed have been cleared, the experience of visiting the Horseshoe Curve will be greatly enhanced.

We had a blast here! Get the combo ticket when you are at the Railroaders Memorial Museum.

We came for the Rail Town Throw Down car show and to check out the famous horseshoe curve. It’s a very cool Place to check out, especially for history buffs, train enthusiasts, etc. The incline tram up to the tracks is not currently in use, but you can walk up the steps after you pay to go in the museum. It was 194 steps to the top. The museum had very informative displays and a movie theater with various films on the history of the curve. The parking lot is also a great spot to watch the trains and to check out the awesome cars at the show. The trains rolled through all day.
