I had a great experience at palms trading. Guy Berger was really helpful and knowledgeable regarding a concho belt i brought in. I was impressed with the selection of amazing pottery they had in stock including some large pieces by phenomenal native artists that you don't see very often. I also noticed the photos of artists that are throughout the shop giving them the recognition they deserve and really feel a connection to the pieces you're buying. I recommend stopping by and checking out the store if you're interested in native American artwork and are in the albuquerque area. Thanks again Guy for your help i appreciate it.

Visitor notes
Excelkent offerings. Have been in business for 90 plus years, know their stuff. You get the real thing here. Excellent jewelry, pottery, baskets and rugs, also blankets. Highly recommend.
What a great jewelry store in Albuquerque. Great selection of rings, brackets and necklaces. They have pottery and other Natuve American items. Good price, good customer service and good price. Highly recommend.
Maybe purchasing here is fine but selling is a horrible experience. I emailed asking if they were interested in buying an extensive Native American pottery collection and was responded to with a request to send measurements, photos, and prices to another person which I promptly did. I waited 2 weeks with no response...which delayed my seeking alternative methods to sell the collection in a probate situation that needed to be finalized. I finally reached out again to both emails asking for a response. The owner emailed back that he wasn't buying at all. They wasted my time, energy, and were rather rude in their VERY SLOW responses. Don't sell here and honestly, I won't buy here as I just don't feel they are professional. Disappointed but have since heard from others that this is typical of this establishment. Owner response isn't very clear. I am frustrated because the owner didn't begin our conversation with I am not buying at this time before I wasted precious time even sending it over. Why ask for something if he isn't buying anything at all? And really? I show the email was sent and verified sent. Perhaps they need to work on clear communication where the person who sent me the "send this to them because I don't do that" accepts the email response and forwards on. Saying it was because they simply didn't get the email is a bit of a cop out. And as I said, several people I spoke with said this is very typical of this establishment and they were sorry I had wasted my time there. It's not JUST me. Others concur. Let's point out here that he didnt even have time to look at my photos and notes before saying "I am not buying right now". So it was all a waste of time.
Well it's proven today that one bad apple can spoil the whole barrel. But in hindsight I can't allow the employees whom I noticed assisting customers with great pleasantries and professionalism. I was assisted as such by two employees until the gentleman I was directed to automatically came across cold and gave off an energy of I'm an interruption to his doings. He spoke very quietly and no greeting of any sort, simply said 'what do you need.?' I felt rushed through what I was needing assistance with and he didn't want to further conversation with me when I started to ask a question he immediately away with no response, comment, etc. This is not acceptable especially at a store that's been a landmark for many years. His aura is quite negative. Only reason for two stars is the other employees whom were presenting a warm welcoming and service.
Great selection, prices and wonderful people! Guy is friendly and knowledgeable! Carol's jewelry style is stunning. It's always a treat to visit this shop!
KIDS ARE NOT WELCOME IN THIS STORE! We believe that children are human and not something to be controlled; we should instruct them, guide them, and help them to not break things when they are in a store. But to post signs around the store saying to "control your children" sends the message "children are not welcome here." The same thing could be said with in a much kinder way, like "We love your children, but could you help them to not break our breakables?" or even the old and simple, "If you break it, you buy it." We walked in with money to spend, and walked out after we saw the signs. This drove us to Old Town, where we found some actual good deals on jewelry, and from places that felt welcoming to children and actually engaged them as people. Also, the price structure is all psychological: everything is half off the marked price (unless it's marked NET) and the signs say they don't want you to haggle, so it makes you think you're getting a super deal. Maybe it works for them, but I prefer for a store to say "all prices are final" and show me that price. Lots of cool stuff, but not for our family.
Frist and last time here! I have never in my 39 years of life experienced the level of what I believe is discrimination in my life then I ever had! Never have I walked out of a store feeling like a piece of crap person just for existing until I walked out of this place!
