After rearranging my work day to make sure I was home for our 3-5 pm slot, we received a call at 3:30 pm to say our plumber was on the way. Eventually turning up at 6:30 pm with no explanation or apology for running late, the plumber (without a hello or introduction) spent a few minutes looking under the sink and told us he would have to come back the next day to fit a new tap. No problem, we expected that anyway. After booking for 2-4 pm the next day and working from home all day to let him in, he eventually made his grand return just after 8 pm. Again, without any sort of greeting or introduction, he got straight to work and our new tap was fitted (very adequately to be fair). Now 9 pm, he proceeds to demand that we contact our landlord and request that he is paid immediately for his incredibly efficient and timely work. We had some issues reaching our landlord at this late hour, so naturally he takes a seat at our dining table and waits for his money. After all this, he kindly asked us to leave a review, so here we are. Don’t bother.

I contacted SM Heating and Plumbing Services after reading numerous positive reviews praising their reliability and based on recommendations from others. Unfortunately, the service I received fell well below those expectations. I arranged an appointment to have issues with our boiler assessed and potentially repaired. Initially, things appeared promising as an appointment was scheduled quickly, which I appreciated. However, on the day of the visit, we were given a time window of 2pm–4pm. After several messages from me asking whether the appointment was still going ahead, the engineer did not arrive until 8pm. While the delay itself was inconvenient, it was not the main issue. After briefly looking at the boiler, the engineer stated he would provide an estimate for the work. Before leaving, he took £60 from my partner. At no point was a call-out charge mentioned or explained, but we assumed this must have been the case despite the lack of communication. A week passed with no estimate and no follow-up contact. I then messaged asking for the quote that had been promised, but the message was never read. This lack of communication raised concerns, particularly as the job had been described as straightforward and we were led to believe it would proceed. Believing in giving the benefit of the doubt, I messaged again asking why no further communication had been provided. That message was read but ignored. At this point, it became clear that we had been taken advantage of — £60 taken with no transparency, no estimate, and no intention of following up. This experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. While I do not believe my review will impact their business, I certainly would not recommend SM Heating and Plumbing Services to anyone based on my experience.

Stephen and his team worked to create an absolutely beautiful bathroom for me. All the work was completed to a fantastic standard and I was kept informed of any issues through the process. These guys take pride in their work and want to leave you with something they’d have in their own homes. Top guys.

I had an excellent experience with SM Heating and Plumbing. From start to finish, the service was outstanding. Big shoutout to Salman. Salman is a top-notch engineer—highly knowledgeable, transparent, and genuinely focused on finding the best solution rather than pushing unnecessary work. His honest advice ended up saving me a significant amount of money, which I truly appreciated. Communication throughout the process was clear and professional, with everything explained in a way that was easy to understand. A major bonus was the weekend availability. My combi boiler stopped working over the weekend, and Salman attended the same day within just a few hours, which was extremely reassuring. Overall, the service was prompt, professional, and reliable. I would highly recommend SM Heating and Plumbing to anyone looking for trustworthy and high-quality heating or plumbing services.

Trust me I have made enough research and gave them benfit of doubt but they are not trustowrthy. I phoned them for kitchen sink blockage. A man turned up and poured 4 bottle of liquids and poured hot water from my kettle and thats it block gone. He used his vaccum for 10 seconds. Nothing else he has done. He charged me £220 on sunday. He spent no more than 1 hour in my home. Look at the day light robbery. Please save some time and look for some reliable and trustable scottish plumbers please! Thank you!

We had an emergency because of faulty work by other plumbers. We contacted SM heating as they were listed for emergency call outs. I spoke to the company and they informed me of the call-out cost. Then they said someone would be within 20 mins. Within 20 mins the plumber arrived and took information about the problem. He checked the system and identified 3 faults which were causing the flooding. He took pictures and video for evidence and the repaired all of the faults. He was polite careful and very competent. He wrote a report for our insurance company. Outstanding service from this company. We will be using them from no uniform all our plumbing and heating needs. 5 stars from us. Phoned after a pipe burst at our boiler, guy appeared within 4 hours and resolved the issue and thoroughly checked over the system before leaving. Very happy to recommend, thanks again Andy

Had a problem with a pipe spraying water emergency call out within an hour! A separate Problem a few days later and again out within the hour to sort it very quickly! Would 100% recommend Salman
