The Whiskey Jar

A very nice bar with great drinks and a well-designed interior. The atmosphere is lively, with people in a good mood, dancing and enjoying themselves. We visited on a night with live music, which really added to the overall vibe. I would definitely recommend it.

So, last time I was in was on a stag do 2 years ago. Me and my missus had a gig in Manchester and went here after. Credits to Sam and Heather behind the bar, both made a whiskey sour my missus liked and she doesn't like whiskey. She had 4. Great live music on the night, they even took my request and smashed it. Comfy couches, a great outdoor area when summer nights hit Manchester. Oh yeah massive whiskey selection. Good job all involved.

One of my favourite bars in Manchester! I had my 30th birthday party here in the private function room. The space is great and the staff were so helpful and such good vibes all night. Really recommend it as a place to grab a drink or to have your party!

My son performed here 26/11/2025 - the host of the event was an absolute (Scottish) legend, the other acts were really good. The bar staff (particularly one barman whose name I can't remember but he also performed) were all excellent. Can't recommend this place enough for a good drink, with excellent atmosphere, but definitely look out for their live music nights.

Really cosy place, felt really relaxed here. Quite busy even for a weekday which is great for business. A menu is definitely needed for this place, not knowing what the prices of somethings are is quite a gamble. Recent update, Saturday supposed to open at 2pm, ended up turning up at 1:45 and was told 15 minutes, ended up staying outside for an hour before actually being allowed to go in, it’s a Saturday, you should be ready before the opening

Well, this might be my new favourite pub in the centre of Manchester. They have an abundance of sofas, twinkly lighting, a suoer friendly atmosphere, and a great music playlist. I left just before the live music act started, but that is a thing here, too.

Went to ther whiskey tasting and it was great. They have a large selection of whisky and other drinks at the bar. Friendly staff great atmosphere topped with live music. What else do you need for a Sunday afternoon experience 😀. Definitely going to there next tasting event.

Amazing pub with local vibe, great service, and I really enjoyed the open mic night except the host.. bloody hell he needs to take a break, stealing the thunder from the local acts and being a weirdo pretending to know the words and get the crowd hyped. I was HYPED for the music, but he gave me the ick.. cokey dude needs to take a break and let the artists speak for themselves.
