Housekeep

Poor cleaning, left early, left house unlocked, no human support line. Paid for a 3 hour clean, the cleaner turned up, didnt say much, I showed him round and then went out for an appointment. Came back what would have been 2.15 into the 3 hour cleaning window to find he had gone, left the house unlocked and the front window open, no message to say he left early or that the place was unlocked. Did a poor job lots of surface level bits left uncleaned, left debris, marks, water pools etc. I asked where he had gone and he said he had finished early and had done all the tasks to a high standard. I sent some pictures of the bits he missed and he said it was a me problem that I hadnt booked a deep clean and that I was clueless. I replied saying that most the stuff I sent was surface level stuff, and maybe fair enough not cleaning the shower tiles etc. but I still booked 3 hours - if I hadnt come back early would he have admitted that he left early? Anyways a few messages back and forth and he said I was bullying him and that he was contacting his HR team - the whole conversation is logged so I assume they can read it. I had been perfectly polite imo. I asked if he needed anything and to contact me if he did while I was out - I got one or two word answers, other than that we didnt speak, I just left him to it. When I tired to contact support I found there is no phone number, and the support chat is just a bot and I cant figure out the options to make a complaint or speak to someone, hoping if I post here someone will reach out. I wanted to post a screenshot of the chat with the cleaner but after posting a review on their site I no longer seem to be able to access it.

I rarely leave bad reviews however, people need to be warned - do not under any circumstances use this company. I have never been so shocked at such a poor quality service. My housemate booked this service as we were moving out and requested a focus on some of the kitchen appliances and bathrooms as well as just a general clean to remove dust etc which with a 5 hour booking in a 2 bed flat we thought was acceptable. We had completed all cleaning in hard to reach places and in cupboards etc so just wanted a good clean. No floors were mopped, dust on skirting boards, dust on surfaces, windows not cleaned, bathrooms not completed at all, oven not done, washing machine not done, dish washer not done. I was able to go round with a packet of wipes and remove so much dirt as photographed below proving that no effort to clean was made I genuinely do not know what was completed. The cleaner also took phone and lunch breaks during my paid hours. When reporting the disappointment to housekeep they don’t seem to care and have said cleaning certain areas like toilets etc are not included in a standard clean. I have had multiple standard cleans and have never had such a poor experience.

SCAM - Avoid like the plague!!! Paid £100 for a 4 hour deep clean when we moved into a new property and the old tenant had left the place a mess. Came back from holiday - had barely been touched (see photos). Got in contact with support team and told could not have a refund, all they could offer was credit towards a one hour clean! Absolutely shocking. Now to deep clean the place myself instead..

Paid for a £250 End of Tenancy Clean which is the most 'throughout' clean they havd. The pictures and videos attached is what I got after a reclean from them. Housekeep don't give refund or partial refund even for disgusting job, they also significantly underlay the cleaners who think I just paid for a normal clean. I had to spend another 2 hours to wiping the flat down myself with minimal cleaning supplies available. I don't use oven there is nothing to degress and the flat is already in very good condition. Terrible standard for the service provided.

My boyfriend and I have been hesitant about hiring cleaners in the past, as we encountered various problems with previous experiences. However, we decided to take another chance and booked through Housekeep again. The moment we opened the door, Lilian's warm smile instantly put us at ease. She took a good look around our apartment, asked about our preferences, and also shared what she would like from us; notably, she preferred to work in a quiet, uncluttered space, so she requested we step into another room while she got to work. After she completed the kitchen and living room, it was time for us to switch rooms for her to clean next; and I was absolutely blown away! Both spaces looked immaculate and perfectly organized. Honestly, she is a treasure, and it was clear that she truly enjoys what she does. Now, we’re hooked on her services and are eager to set up regular cleaning appointments because I can’t imagine life without her!

My housekeeper was cheerful and happy to follow my instructions. I made a faux pas by not offering water in the heatwave. Thankfully she was happy with room temperature filtered. Happy to have her clean for me. Cat liked her too. Which means a lot. Satisfied customer.

Do not use!!! Terrible after service; especially Angus Patterson who is the so called head of support. Cleaner broke our shower door during cleaning. No help or ownership from Housekeep. They will not help at all. They do not have insurance. They also position themselves as brokers rather than taking any responsibility for cleaners. They maintain They are self employed. Go for a more respectable company.

We recently had this team clean Andy’s mum’s house after we had cleared out a huge amount of rubbish, and I honestly can’t speak highly enough of them. From the moment they arrived, they were incredibly friendly, respectful, and professional. They approached what was a very challenging job with such a positive attitude and worked thoroughly through every part of the house. The end result was absolutely outstanding, far beyond what we expected given the condition they started with. What also stood out was how easy the entire process was. We’re based in New Zealand, and despite organising everything from overseas, the booking was completely seamless and stress-free. Highly, highly recommend this team, we will definitely be using them again. If you’re looking for a reliable, hardworking, and genuinely lovely cleaning crew, give them a call. They are exceptional.
