I spent a wonderful afternoon at Raphael Park in Romford, and it is truly one of the most beautiful historic parks in the area. This Victorian-era gem offers a perfect escape with its stunning lake, mature trees, and peaceful atmosphere. Walking along the water and watching the local wildlife was incredibly relaxing. The park is exceptionally well-maintained, featuring a mix of ornamental gardens and wide-open spaces that are perfect for a quiet walk or a picnic. The highlight for me was the scenic lake view—it’s a fantastic spot for photography, especially when the light hits the water just right. Whether you're looking for a place to exercise or simply want to disconnect and enjoy some greenery, this park is a must-visit. Traveler Tips for your visit: • The Lake: Take the full loop around the lake for the best views and a chance to see various water birds. • Raphael’s Restaurant: There is a lovely restaurant on-site if you want to enjoy a meal or a coffee with a view of the park. • Photography: The bridges and the historic gatehouse provide great backdrops for your travel photos. • Accessibility: The main paths are flat and paved, making it an easy walk for everyone. Raphael Park is a local treasure that perfectly combines natural beauty with community life. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re exploring the United Kingdom's local parks! 🌳🦢

Had been visited this park twice. Beautiful park with jogging trail, and a large duck pool. There is duck food machine, we only need to pay 20p for feeding duck. Also, a small wood trail with some cute animal wood sculpture, like squirrel and a little boy. Next, there is a large grassfield for bringing dog, to have picnic, or to play soccer with beloved ones. Access to the park with bus 174 or bus 489 from Romford station. The location is opposite the Lodge Farm Park.
This is a beautiful garden. It is so huge that no matter the number of people there, you don't feel like it's congested. I like the combination of grass, trees, lake, carvings and birds. It all come together to create a unique architecture of a natural park. Thr children's park is very thoughtful and the activities there are very great. This is a good place for family outings, picnics, friends outings or if you just want to have a nature experience. You can relieve a lot of stress just walking through the park and looking around or just sitting on the benches provided. The woodlands are a great sight. It gives a foresty kind of feel and add to the overall nature of the park. What i don't like though is the way people allow their dogs to roam freely in the park without leash or muzzle. That can be scary at times. I will still give it five stars because it serves its purpose, all in all.
Beautiful park full of lovely birds to feed ✨✨✨ Make sure to bring proper bird food, NOT BREAD bcs they can get ill and exit the Earth if you feed them with nonsense.
A nice little town park just north of Romford. It has its own bus stop, I came on the 174. There are proper paths that take you all around the park as well as a track that goes through the woodland in the northwest corner. The lake had plenty of wildfowl on it and there were two Little Egrets roosting in the trees. At the northern end there's an open space with a café and picnic tables. There are benches throughout.
Lovely park in and around close to London, beautiful houses and great nature around with lake.
Raphael Park is a true local gem! The peaceful atmosphere, beautiful greenery, and well-maintained paths make it a perfect place for a relaxing walk or family outing. The tennis courts are a real highlight—clean, spacious, and a joy to play on. Whether you're a seasoned player or just having fun, the courts at Raphael Park are fantastic. A lovely community space that truly shines!
Really enjoy going to see the baby ducks always have a 20 pence peice for the food you get out the dispenser
