The Truro

I previously visited over the Easter holiday period and food was excellent. Came in again yesterday for my daughter’s 8th birthday and was not disappointed at all. Even when my daughter decided to try chicken burger and didn’t go as expected, the restaurant immediately gave her a beef burger at no extra charge. Happy birthday ice cream was given to her and she was ecstatic. The waiter was excellent, always checking on us to ensure we had all we needed and wanted. I will definitely be coming back and recommend to anyone that love good food especially seafood.

Absolutely delicious! It was my first time eating here in Truro, and I can't believe I'd been missing out all this time—I genuinely regret not visiting sooner. The prawns were cooked perfectly, and the rice and corn on the cob were absolutely divine. Everything was packed with flavour, and the meal was thoroughly enjoyable. If you've never tried South African food before, don't let that put you off. If you enjoy bold, well-seasoned, and uniquely spiced flavours, you'll love it. It's a great place to experience something a little different. I'll definitely be coming back!

Loved the food at The Truro croydon ! The peri-peri flavours were rich, spicy, and full of authentic African taste. The chicken was juicy, perfectly grilled, and the prawns were delicious. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and generous portions. A perfect place for family dinners or catching up with friends. Definitely coming back for more! 🌶️🍗🔥

Popped in here for a quick bite and we’re not disappointed. We ordered a Platter for 1, but shared it and was glad we did. Portions are big for me so make sure you don’t go alone unless you are happy to take the rest home. Service was good — staff were friendly and attentive. The food was decent, but personally I would’ve liked it spicier. With a bit more heat and seasoning, it could be even better. But I would recommend all to go and try.

I recently visited The Truro in Croydon with three friends and we decided to share a platter — what a great decision that was! The chicken was incredibly fresh and the tenderness and quality took me straight back to dining in Dubai — that same exceptional standard I never thought I'd find in South London. The prawns were cooked to absolute perfection, honestly some of the best I've ever tasted. Being a halal restaurant, it was wonderful to enjoy such high quality food in a welcoming environment. We also tried the mocktails and I have to say the Lychee Mojito was outstanding — refreshing, flavourful and the perfect accompaniment to the meal. I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend The Truro to anyone looking for a fantastic halal dining experience in Croydon!

Dinner date here with my husband this evening, first time visiting and I will definitely be returning. Large portion sizes and deliciously flavoursome! Service was brilliant and food served quick.

WOW! We happened to sit next to the owner, Zaid, on a flight to South Africa. He told us he has peri-peri chicken restaurants in London, which also happens to be my favourite food. We visited the Croydon restaurant and were blown away. It’s some of the best peri-peri chicken and prawns I’ve ever had! Such generous portions and incredible flavour. It’s a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous interior. Our waitress, Susan, was an absolute star! So friendly and attentive. The food was out super quickly. Nothing to fault! Loved the way you use a lamp to let the service know when you need assistance. Serendipitous to have sat next to the lovely Zaid on our flight ✈️

Loved my lunch at The Truro! Service was fast and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. I love the light lamp feature you tap when you are ready to order. The food was delicious and full of flavour, I ordered the six prawns in lemon butter with sweet potato fries and the corn. I would highly recommend going and I’m definitely going back to Truro soon.
