Wonderful English bookstore. New and secondhand books are fairly priced. They carry NYRB, new directions, fitzcarraldo editions too. Bookseller is super friendly!

Saint George Bookstore is, without a doubt, my favorite bookstore in Berlin. Over the years I’ve bought countless books here, and I keep coming back. The selection of second hand books is excellent, especially if you love literature, classics, philosophy, history, and discovering unexpected treasures hidden on the shelves. What truly makes this place special, however, is the owner. He is knowledgeable, welcoming, passionate about books, and always happy to help. You can immediately feel that this is not just a business but a genuine labor of love. In a world increasingly dominated by algorithms and online shopping, Saint George Bookstore reminds me why independent bookstores matter. Every visit feels like a small adventure, and I have found many books here that became important to me. If you love books and happen to be in Berlin, do yourself a favor and visit Saint George Bookstore. It is one of those rare places that still has a soul.

Ein großartiges Buchladen für alle, die gerne englische Literatur lesen, ganz unabhängig vom Genre. Es gibt unfassbar viel zu entdecken und es lohnt sich, ein wenig hier zu verweilen und durch die Regale zu stöbern. Die Bücherregale ragen bis zur Decke und der Laden hat eine herzliche Atmosphäre ohne viel Schnickschnack. Da die meisten Bücher second hand sind, sind die Preise auch ausgesprochen vertretbar. Es lohnt sich unbedingt, hin und wieder einen Blick in diesen schönen laden zu werfen!

Extensive collection of secondhand English books: fiction, non-fiction, poetry — classics and contemporary works… Most books are good as new, which is reflected in the prices. But I also saw many books < €10. I appreciate the way books are organized, it made it essy to browse. There’s a separate section dedicated to books set in Berlin, which was exactly what I was looking for :) and there’s also a section full of books by German authors translated to English. Worth a visit, especially since there are lots of other nice shops, restaurants and bars in this neighborhood.

the best bookshop I have visited. the selection is amazing, you can find lots of great used books at amazing prices. the owner is also friendly and helpful, it was such a joy visiting this place and finding little gems

Har nu været der to gange, og det er det bedste sted. Rolig, hyggelig og rar atmosfære. Ejeren er simpelthen så sød, og bogpriserne er helt vildt gode. Største anbefaling og must visit i Berlin!!

I absolutely love this bookstore, I am so happy it exists. <3 There is one small thing that I can’t stop being bothered about though: The price stickers! I really don’t enjoy leaving a price sticker on my books and sadly, that is the only option, because trying to remove the sticker literally ruins the books. It is such a small detail with such great effect. I wonder if there is a way for you to consider this, as I am sure I am not the first person who came home with beautiful books and then ruined them by trying to remove the stickers and being left quite disappointed for the visible scars this left. Nonetheless, I love everything else about this store and will always be a happy returning customer—but even more so if I knew my books were visually safe. <3
